Why I Decided to Create a Blog

Some may wonder why I have decided to enter the blog world since I am by no means the most technically savvy person I know.
 

There are really two reasons I wanted to post a blog from time to time.  First of all I wanted to share news about what is happening at Olivet.  There are certain opportunities or ministries or events that we don’t really have time to thoroughly discuss the value or hear about the great things that God is doing.  Our schedule just does not allow us enough time.  So I hope the blog can be a way to communicate to our church family and those not in our church families about the great things that God is doing at Olivet.

The second reason I wanted to enter the blog world is to share my views.  Not that my views are necessarily anything special but I hope it is a platform to help us think about what is happening in the world around us.  James White in his book Serious Times talks about the desperate need for Christians in our world to learn to “think Christianly” about life and our world.  Obviously, we live in a secular world where most people do not "think Christianly" about life.  My prayer is that a blog might be one way we can learn to think more Christ-like about our lives.  So I hope that you might check the blog from time to time and through it we might grow to become more committed followers of Christ.  Hope to see you soon
